- Urgent request for a chiller after a breakdown at a hospital; emergency temporary chiller required to provide cooling to MRI scanner
- MRI scanners require constant cooling in order to operate efficiently, delivered through a chiller that keeps the unit at a consistent temperature; restoring the function is required as soon as possible.
- Chiller requires lifting onto hospital roof for positioning in place of the failed chiller system
The solution
- Due to time restrictions an onsite survey was unable to be carried out; our expert team determined chiller requirements and specified a 14kW chiller over the phone.
- Upon site arrival our engineer carried out risk and method assessments; to ensure safety and equipment suitability before starting installation – this meant that the commissioning could run smoothly restoring cooling to the site quick as possible.
- Transport at short notice; a long reach hiab was provided to enable us to lift the chiller into place on site.
- Installation was quickly completed by our expert team; allowing for cooling to the MRI scanner to be restored.
